I first experienced DJ Jonjon's magic in the New York bar scene where he keeps a room spinning into the wee hours of morning. We were fortunate enough to have him as Ars Nova's Resident DJ for a while, where he infused his breadth of musical knowledge and joy of music into our artist community. We've called on Jonjon for large and small events from fundraisers to birthday and holiday parties. He just has this natural ability to tap into the vibe or theme you're trying to create and then spin out from there to bring a room to life, fueled by the attendees themselves. Jonjon had djed a friend's wedding and the night was a dance-filled delight with music that captured the couple perfectly. So when my husband and I decided to get married, we looked no further. Jonjon met with us over dinner to get a sense of our musical preferences well before the wedding. He was able to meld our different styles, and incorporate my husband's Russian heritage, seamlessly placing Russian pop songs into his set. There was not one lull or awkward moment in the music and lots of fun surprises. The night hit an all time high at the drop of the final "And I" in the Hex Hector Club Mix of I Will Always Love You, when I was lifted off the floor by my friends and spun around under the disco ball.
